HMT Gauge Pole Float And Sleeve
Various regulatory agencies are now requiring that slotted gauge/guide poles be provided with an emissions control system including a float and sleeve. HMT's Gauge Pole Float and Sleeve have been designed to significantly reduced hydrocarbon emissions from slotted gauge/guide poles used with external floating roof storage.
HMT's Gauge Pole Float features a new "low-profile", stainless steel construction and 27 mil. Petrolam® PTFE (Teflon®) wiper. The float is designed to operate in products having specific gravities ranging from 0.60 to 1.00. It effectively "plugs" the gauge pole, preventing vapors from escaping to the atmosphere.
The new HMT Gauge Pole Sleeve is designed to prevent vapors from escaping through the gauge pole slots or the gauge well slide mechanism, which allows movement between the gauge pole and the floating roof. The sleeve is constructed of stainless steel and has a 25 mil. Petroflex™ PTFE (Teflon®) liner. This liner provides excellent chemical and abrasion resistance and effectively closes the slots in the gauge pole.
Both float and sleeve are designed to be installed with the storage tank remaining in service. This new emission control system is another example of HMT's "Innovative Solutions" philosophy and our commitment to providing quality products to the petroleum industry.
